Food and Nutrition

All of our meals are freshly prepared at our restaurant ‘The Courthouse restaurant’ situated in King’s Court. We have experienced and qualified staff who receive advice from professionals regarding nutrition and a balanced diet. A good balanced diet and good nutrition will help your child to grow into a healthier and confident eater.

Snacks are prepared in each room by the team members who have received their ‘Food Hygiene’. All snacks are stored appropriately and all ‘Food Hygiene’ procedures are adhered to when handling foods. All our meals and snacks are accompanied with a choice of milk, water; also fresh drinking water is readily available throughout the children’s day.

The menus are evaluated to establish which meals appear to be more favourable and accordingly altered to meet the needs of all children. Vegetarian options are available, as are many other options with regards to allergy, cultural or other dietary requirements.

Meal and snack times are not only a time for children to fulfil their basic needs but act as a valuable time for learning and development. This is also a fun way of learning early mathematic skills by counting their food items.

Staff and children sit together, replicating a real homely experience. Engaged in conversation, sharing and taking turns meal times allow social skills to flourish and as children become more confident eaters, developing their skills with their cutlery, they feel a great sense of pride and self-esteem.
