A GOOD result from Ofsted!

After receiving a rating of Inadequate previously, Kings Nursery is happy to announce a ‘Good’ Ofsted inspection thanks to new management.

Kings Nursery, based in Blackburn Town Centre, is delighted to have been awarded a ‘Good’ Ofsted score after previously being rated ‘Inadequate’. The improvements made to the nursery are due to the new management put in place in February 2016. Ashleigh Liddiard, the new manager at Kings Nursery has been working closely with the Early Years Improvement Team and Ofsted over the last 6months to improve previous failings.

Kings Nursery’s, Ashleigh said:

“I’m incredibly happy with the rating we’ve received from Ofsted, the staff have been fantastic and dedicated to improving the services. We’ve been working hard since December with the Early Years Improvement Team, parents and Ofsted to give children better opportunities in their learning and development, and to improve the overall services we offer.

We will continue to improve services in order to receive a higher rating from Ofsted in the future, and to also give the children in our care the best possible learning environment to see them excel”.

In previous inspections by Ofsted, Kings Court was given an ‘inadequate’ rating. As a result of this, Kings Nursery reviewed their management and brought on-board Ashleigh Liddiard. Since the new management, Kings Nursery has worked hard to address and correct previous issues brought to their attention by Ofsted.

Ofsted awarded “Good” in all aspects of care and said:

“The provider has effectively addressed previous poor practice. They have made significant improvements in the way children’s learning is assessed and monitored”.
Partnerships with the local authority and other agencies have been used effectively to review and develop ongoing action plans. Staff have embrace changed and remain committed to implementing further improvement”.

Kings Nursery was registered in 2013 and is run by East Lancashire Deaf Society. The nursery caters for children aged 0 to 4 years, and focuses on the foundation stage of a child’s life, which is vital for a child’s development. A unique aspect of the nursery is that their staff use sign language (BSL/Makaton), as well as spoken English in order to develop a child’s communication skills further, as well as offering them future skills.
