Worst places in Lancashire for children’s oral health

A survey conducted by Public Health England, found that more than half of 5-year-olds in Oldham had at least one decayed tooth.

The 2014/15 dental health survey also revealed Blackburn as one of the worst places in the country for children’s oral health. Dentists said, of the children examined in Oldham over 50.9% of five-year-olds had obvious signs of tooth decay.

The top 10 places with the worst teeth among five-year-olds.

Blackburn with Darwen – 55.7%

Salford  – 51.5%

Oldham- 50.9%

Leicester- 45%

Rochdale – 43.5%

Preston- 43.5%

Hyndburn- 43.5%

Pendle- 43.3%

Burnley- 42.6%

Luton- 42.6%
